Course Description:This course is the first part of a sequenced two-semester course designed to provide the student with an understanding of the use of the clinical laboratory as an aid to the diagnosis, treatment and management of disease. The course focuses on laboratory tests and procedures used to investigate clinical problems encountered in the in-hospital and outpatient settings. The course will provide students with a framework for the basis of the various laboratory tests that are utilized in clinical medicine.
