CSD 356 - Hearing Science
Prerequisite: CSD 253, CSD 270, junior standing, or permission of instructor required. Open to Communication Sciences and Disorders majors only. Course Description: This course introduces the student to physiological and psychoacoustical measures of hearing (intensity-loudness, frequency-pitch, temporal-duration), neurophysiology of the hearing mechanism, and auditory perception. A lab component utilizing instrumentation is included. This course will be taught with a combination of traditional lecture, interactive web-sites, problem-based learning (PBL), Blackboard, and lab assignments.
