CSD 357 - Speech Science

Prerequisite: CSD 253, CSD 256, and junior standing. Open to Communication Sciences and Disorders majors only.
Co-requisite: CSD 270.

Course Description: This course introduces the student to the theory and clinical practice of speech science; specifically, the neurophysiology of the speech mechanism, speech perception, and speech production. A lab component utilizing instrumentation is included. This course will be taught with a combination of traditional lecture, interactive web-sites, Blackboard, and lab assignments that require learning through active classroom participation in problem solving.
