HIS 113P - Introduction to Public History: Pace University 9/11 Oral History Project
Old Core: Fulfills Western History. New Core: Fulfills 3 credits in Area of Knowledge I (Service Learning Component) or 3 credits in Area of Knowledge II.

Course Description: This course integrates community-based learning and civic engagement with the discipline of History. Students are introduced to public history and oral history and deepen and broaden their knowledge of September 11, 2001. Simultaneously, students study the meaning of civic engagement through readings in history, literature and political theory and experience community-based learning by their participation as interviewers and transcribers for the Pace University 9/11 Oral History Project.
