HIS 134CU - Modern Latin America (CAP): - Latin America: The Modern Era Learning Community
New Core: Fulfills 3 credits in Area of Knowledge III. Course Description: This learning community will link the historical, political, and economic survey of Latin American countries such as Peru, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Cuba, Guatemala, and Brazil with an examination of the literatures produced by these cultures. Students will focus on the role of the region's economic and political dependence upon Europe and the USA after 1900 and will consider the role of the U.S. as a key regional as they also read more recent literary works.
