PAA 666 - Health Care Economics

Prerequisite: PAA 650, PAA 651 and all core courses.

Course Description: This course examines the economic impact of various sectors of health care market, reviews shifts and trends in the financing of health care on a fee basis, capitation DRG and contractual basis, regulated and unregulated markets, federal and state controls and their effect, organization of the financial arm of health care organizations, impact of managed care review of relation between managed care organizations and traditional providers.
