Course Description: This course is an exploration of book production processes, materials and techniques for publishing generalists, working professionals, and students interested in the production process and how design can influence the success of a project. The course will include: color process & theory, prepress (both traditional and electronic) paper basics, printing processes, binding operations, and archiving. Guest professionals from the publishing industry will describe their roles in the production of a book and how each department interacts with the others.
