PUB 699B - Internship II
Course Description: Internship I and II is a two-semester course sequence that allows students to gain direct publishing experience by interning in the publishing industry. This experience assists them in writing their Master’s Thesis which is based on or developed out of that experience. 699A focuses on developing the tools (resume, cover letters and networking and job search skills) that allow the student to successfully secure an internship. In addition to interning, the students will participate in weekly online discussions and work towards developing a viable and researchable topic for their thesis paper. In 699B, students work closely with the Professor to develop and write their papers via individual meetings and in the weekly online discussion boards. Students are required to submit a complete draft of their paper to the Professor mid-semester to read, comment on and to discuss in a scheduled in-person meeting.
