Communication is an essential part of our daily lives. Television, the Internet, subway signs, magazines, radio, telephones, books, brochures-these are just some of the many ways we are involved with communication in our daily lives. Since communication is such an essential part of who we are, then it is vital that related fields have well trained individuals who can communicate clearly, correctly, and accurately.
Our Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications program combines interdisciplinary theory and practice, including courses in writing for media outlets; video production and editing; verbal and presentational skills for the workplace; and literature and creative writing.
Our media production lab is equipped with AVID editing systems, professional digital video and audio equipment, a screening room with 92"-digital projection system, and an electronic voice/data classroom.
An opportunity to enroll in an accelerated dual-degree program - B.A. English and Communications/J.D. Law - is available to qualified majors. Interested students must meet with a departmental advisor early in their first year of study.
