Open Source Application Development
The open source model for software development has become increasingly popular in recent years. This model has led to the production of high quality software at a faster pace than that of more traditional proprietary models. The growth of the World Wide Web has facilitated its use and Linux is one of the best-known examples of software emerging from the open source approach. This new five-course graduate-level certificate offered by the Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems will utilize the resources provided by the open source community. The specific focus is on application development utilizing open source resources.
