Claudia G. Green, PhD, RD, is the director of the Hospitality and Tourism Management program. Dr. Green has over 20 years of industry and teaching experience. She teaches management, hospitality, and tourism with an emphasis on sustainable international tourism development in Brazil. She received her PhD from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
She has consulted with both private and public organizations in the area of quality improvement through involvement of the customer and use of technology. She is an active member of the Pace University Center for Downtown New York, which is a group of academic and business professionals dedicated to the rebuilding of social, economic, and cultural institutions in Lower Manhattan, following the 9-11 terrorists attacks. One of her recent publications deals with the response of the New York City restaurant industry following the attacks.
Dr. Green serves on the editorial review boards for several academic journals and holds membership in the Academy of Management Association, Council for Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education, and the American Dietetics Association. She has presented her research in Brazil, Thailand, Hong Kong, Mexico, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Ireland, and the United Arab Emirates and has published extensively in international and domestic professional journals.
