An authority on service and international marketing, Dr. Kathryn F. Winsted is an assistant professor of marketing at the Lubin School of Business. Dr. Winsted has done extensive research in the service field, focusing on examination of international issues in service industries.
Dr. Winsted's article, "The Service Experience in Two Cultures: A Behavioral Perspective," was published in the November 1997 issue of the Journal of Retailing, and her article "Internationalization of Services: The Service Exporting Decision," will be published in an upcoming issue of theJournal of Services Marketing. Other recent articles include "Service Encounter Expectations: A Cross-Cultural Analysis" (spring 1997 issue of the Journal of Transnational Management Development), "Tips for Satisfying Your Services Clients" (May 1997 issue of the Westchester County Business Journal), and "The Internationalization of Engineering Consulting: A Study of Exporting Practices and Attitudes" (May 1997 issue of Consulting Engineer).
Dr. Winsted won the Best Paper Award for "Internationalization of Services: The Service Exporting Decision" in the Service Marketing and Retail Management track of the 1997 American Marketing Association Summer Marketing Educators' conference. She also co-chaired the Global Marketing track at AMA's 1995 conference, and she was a panel member at a "Techniques and Problems in Doing International Business" seminar at AMA's 1995 conference.
Dr. Winsted is currently doing research in the areas of advertising factors that stimulate brand recall, effectiveness of product placement in movies and television, and the impact of new media on advertising reach and frequency.
