In addition to avoided energy costs, behind-the-meter solar PV helps offset other costs associated with the electric grid. Some of these costs include avoided capacity costs and avoided transmission and distribution costs. Acadia Center assessed the value of solar of a PV system installed near Hartford, Connecticut. The results show the orientation of a system will deliver different values.
