Within its Zoning Resolution, Jackson Township in Ohio has included a chapter on solar energy systems. According to the chapter, an accessory solar energy system is permitted as an accessory use in any district, subject to a number of regulations outlined in sections throughout the rest of the chapter. Some of those regulations include specific requirements for roof/structure mounted and ground/pole mounted systems as well as solar energy production facilities. For example, a solar energy production facility must be located on at least five acres of land and must be designed and located to prevent reflective glare towards any inhabited building.
