Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) and duplexes are permitted as-of-right in all residential zones in Olympia while cottage houses, triplexes, fourplexes, and townhouses are permitted as-of-right in most residential zones. The city amended its zoning code to encourage infill development in three urban residential areas to prevent urban sprawl.
