DESCRIPTION:

Course Description: This course, for students in the accelerated program, utilizes a primary health care and family-centered framework to study maternal-newborn nursing and women’s health. Students will use the nursing process, critical thinking skills and an evidence based practice approach to deliver appropriate care to newborns, mothers, and women across the life span. A global perspective will be used to promote culturally competent care for women and the newborn. Supervised clinical experiences will be provided in a variety of settings.
