DESCRIPTION: -Course Description:This course introduces students to the goals and process of health care policy from the perspective of health promotion and culturally competent social justice. Through an experiential learning process, students will gain an understanding of their role in identifying and promoting evidence based policies through lobbying for appropriate legislation. Utilizing critical thinking and communication skills, students will interact with stake-holders and policy-makers regarding issues specific to health advocating for equitable health care quality, cost efficiency, and access.
