Course Description: This is the third part of a sequenced four-semester course, which introduces physician assistant students to the study of human pathophysiology. This lecture only course utilizes an organ systems approach to build a knowledge base of the key concepts of the evolution and expression of diseases commonly seen by primary care providers for specific organ system. The course builds on lectures in Clinical Anatomy, Physiology, Pathophysiology 1, Pathophysiology 2, and Clinical Medicine 3 and coincides with an in-depth instruction of treatment modalities in Medical Pharmacology 3. Areas of study include the gastrointestinal, integumentary, and hematologic systems and infectious disease across the life span.
