Lubin doctoral, master's, and baccalaureate students were honored at Commencement Ceremonies in New York City and Westchester last month. In addition, outstanding Lubin students received special recognition at Lubin Awards Ceremonies and 148 students were inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the preeminent international honor society in business. Robert Chersi '83, executive director, Lubin's Center for Global Governance, Reporting and Regulation, was honored as the Beta Gamma Sigma Pace chapter honoree on the New York City campus, and Nick Bueti '99, partner, Financial Services, EY, was honored on the Westchester campus. This was the first year that the Lubin Awards Ceremonies featured a live Instagram feed on both campuses. View Instagram photos from Pleasantville and from New York City.

Annual Conference of the Association of International Bank Auditors

Pace University hosted the annual conference of the Association of International Bank Auditors (AIBA) on June 17th. The AIBA is an industry trade association composed of members representing nearly one hundred international banks with operations in the U.S. This annual conference was attended by over 125 industry professionals, and featured speakers from Pace (Dean Neil Braun and Robert Chersi, executive director Lubin's Center for Global Governance, Reporting, and Regulation), the industry, and the regulatory community. Pace and the AIBA are also co-sponsors of the Certified Compliance and Regulatory Professional (CCRP®), a certification which provides industry professionals with the critical proficiencies necessary to succeed in today's ultra-complex and quickly-evolving regulatory environment. The Third Annual One Day Immersion in TV, Cable, & Digital Entertainment Collegiate Conference, presented by Dolly Wolf Enterprises in association with the Lubin School of Business, will take place on October 23. This one-day program offers unprecedented access to some of the most successful and imaginative entertainment and media professionals, and includes interactive panel discussions with media executives. The program also provides attendees with information about internships and job opportunities. This full-day event is free to all currently-enrolled college students, faculty, and recent graduates. Registration opens September 1.

Lubin Takes First Place in Business
Analytics Competition

  [Lubin Takes First Place in Business Analytics Competition]
Lubin BBA in Quantitative Business Analysis students, Zhengyu (Ryan) Tang, Bin Bin Chen, and Clive Cadillo, placed first in the Business Analytics Conference and Competition at Manhattan College in May. More than a dozen teams competed in the two-phase contest that was judged by a panel of faculty advisers and practitioners. Other winners included Clarkson University and University of San Francisco. The Lubin team earned the grand prize of $2,000 and an invitation to submit a paper to a peer-reviewed journal. Dr. Janice Winch, associate professor, management and management science, advised the team.

From June 27 to July 1, the New York State Society of CPAs and Pace will co-host the 29th Career Opportunities in the Accounting Profession Residency Program, which introduces students from underrepresented backgrounds to the accounting field. The goal of the program is to increase the diversity of CPAs. This year's program will feature keynote speaker Elizabeth Diep '00, a partner at PwC's Asset Management practice in New York. Elizabeth sits on the Lubin Alumni Board and has 15 years of experience in accounting, specializing in auditing, hedge funds, and private equity funds.

[An Outstanding Start for Dress for Success]
Lauren Berger
Dress for Success, a fashion event hosted by Profashionals, Career Services, Ad Club, Successful Women at Pace, RotarAct Club, and ALPFA, was held on April 23. The event featured Lauren Berger, CEO, InternQueen.com, as keynote speaker, and a panel discussion with six professionals in the fashion business. Select panelists represented Cosmopolitan magazine and Prabal Gurung. Nearly 150 students attended the event and gained valuable insights into industry secrets, internships, and how to dress for interviews. Students also had an opportunity to network with the speakers and ask questions about their careers.

  [Travel and Learn Through Lubin International Field Studies]
Lubin students in Brazil
During the spring semester, Lubin students learned about global economies by traveling abroad. Through field study trips, students traveled to Brazil and China over Spring Break. Trips to Denmark, Sweden, London, and Brussels occurred in May. Students visited corporations, government agencies, NGOs, and universities. Fall 2015 field study trips will be offered to London, Brussels, Japan, and India. Scholarships in the amount of $1,500 are available to qualified students.

Summer Common Reading
The common reading assigned to Pleasantville incoming first-year students this summer is the acclaimed This I Believe: Life Lessons, edited by Dan Gediman, John Gregory, and Mary Jo Gediman. This insightful book is a compilation of first-person essays written by different authors exploring their guiding principles and beliefs. The common reading complements this year's theme of "Finding and Pursuing Your Passion" nicely.

[$2 Million Gift from Joseph Ianniello '90]
Joseph Ianniello '90, COO, CBS Corporation, and a member of the Pace University Board of Trustees, has made a $2 million commitment for the construction of a new athletics field house in Pleasantville. When completed later this year, the Ianniello Field House will be the flagship of Pace University Athletics. Ianniello also visited the Pleasantville campus in November 2014 and lectured on his experience rising to the C-suite at a Fortune 500 company.

[Lubin Golf Classic a Great Success]
The 17th Annual Lubin School of Business Golf Classic was held for the first time at the Willow Ridge Country Club, in Harrison, New York, on May 26. It was a beautiful day on the green with more than 70 Lubin alumni and friends in attendance. All proceeds benefit scholarships for Lubin undergraduate students who demonstrate academic excellence, service to Pace, and financial need. Proceeds also support special funds, programs, and projects that position Lubin to compete with other leading business schools. Thanks to all who participated and to the 2015 Lubin Golf Classic committee for all their hard work!

On June 10, Joel Grey, Broadway legend, Oscar®, and Tony Award®-winning star of Cabaret, served as the master of ceremony at the 2015 Spirit of Pace Awards Dinner, which was held at the American Museum of Natural History. For over 50 years, this annual dinner has brought together the Pace community to celebrate the University's role as a leader in higher education. Three extraordinary individuals were recognized for their professional and personal accomplishments: Thomas P. Gibbons '86, vice chairman and CFO, Bank of New York Mellon; Brian M. Barefoot '70, former president, Babson College; and Susanne O'Callaghan, PhD, accounting professor, Lubin School of Business.

[Celebrate Lubin! 2015 Honors Steven Ku]
Steven Ku, '91, COO and partner, Visium Asset Management LP, will be honored at Celebrate Lubin! (formerly the Lubin Luncheon), which returns to the Harmonie Club in New York City on November 10. As the School's signature fundraiser, proceeds from Celebrate Lubin! support scholarships for outstanding Lubin students and special projects selected by the Dean. The evening's celebration will begin with a dinner reception featuring a showcase of Lubin student organization representatives, followed by a formal program.

New EMBA and DPS Cycles
The Executive MBA at Lubin is a hybrid program combining online learning with weekend residencies once every ten weeks. The program is designed for experienced managers and professionals. The Executive Doctoral Program (DPS) allows students to continue full-time careers while developing their conceptual and analytical capability. The program enables graduates to launch an academic career, advance in senior management, or initiate a consulting practice.
