[Richard F. Zannino] Richard F. Zannino, '84, executive vice president and COO of Dow Jones & Company, was an Executive in Residence at Lubin earlier this month. Discussing "Strategy and Alignment," Zannino met with faculty and both undergraduate and graduate students on the downtown New York City campus.

Michael P. Cangemi, '70, president, CEO, and director of the Etienne Aigner Group, Inc., has received the Lubin Alumni Achievement Award. Cangemi was honored for his professional accomplishments and service to Pace University and the Lubin School.

Distinguished Economist at Henry George Symposium
[William J. Baumol] Dr. William J. Baumol, professor of economics at NYU and professor emeritus at Princeton, was the featured speaker at the Annual Henry George Symposium at Pace. Baumol pointed to the current proliferation of inventions and innovations as productive contributions to the well being of society by creating free market growth.

Lubin faculty and students got the bottom line on the current financial market scene when Dr. Paul B. Bennett, senior vice president and chief economist at the New York Stock Exchange, spoke about a new NYSE-initiated study on market performance, and electronic vs. floor trading. Dr. Bennett was the guest of the William C. Freund Center for the Study of Securities Markets.

Special Guests for Lubin Leaders and Scholars
[Shanghai Quartet] Lubin honor students enjoyed musically and intellectually stimulating visits from the Shanghai Quartet this fall. The Quartet spoke to the students about leadership, communication, teamwork, and global diversity. Dr. Rosalie Tung, president of the Academy of Management, and one of the five most-cited authors in international business, also visited this fall.

Shal Chowdhury, '03, management controls specialist at Goldman Sachs, is the recipient of a scholarship awarded by the New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA) and the Association for Investment Management and Research to study for the June Certificate of Financial Analysts (CFA) exam.

Lubin and Law School Team Up
[Lubin and Law School Team Up] Lubin's Center for Professional Education (CPE) has joined forces with Pace Law School's Department of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) to offer a series of credit-bearing certification programs to corporate clients on a wide range of topics. Lubin MBA students also serve as financial consultants to Pace Law School interns in the Securities Arbitration Clinic.

Students Gather for Nationwide Leadership Forum
Beta Gamma Sigma, the premier business honor society, brought together approximately 75 student members from colleges and universities across the country for an intense weekend of what one student referred to as a "life changing" Annual Student Leadership Forum. The students participated in a number of challenging hands-on exercises to improve their team-building, networking, intuitive, creative, and social skills abilities.

Oceans of Opportunity
[Janice Darmody] Lubin MBA students Janice Darmody and Wesley Merz successfully competed for coveted scholarships awarded by the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA). The scholarships were presented at the 14th Annual Conference and the Career Expo was attended by over 5,000 MBA students, university administrators, and corporate executives.

German Students "On Wall Street"
Thirteen students and two administrators from Fachhochscule Stralsund University of Applied Science in Germany spent two weeks at the end of January "On Wall Street" at Pace's Downtown NYC campus as guests of Lubin's Center for International Business Development. Lectures on corporate governance, globalization trends, and accounting tools were interspersed with visits to AXA Insurance Company, City Hall, and the Federal Reserve.
