The Village of Croton-on-Hudson is creating a Conservation Advisory Council in the fight to preserve and improve the quality of the natural and manmade environment of the Village in the face of population growth, urbanization, and technological change. The Conservation Advisory Council will serve to reinforce the environmental interests of the community by developing community programs to foster understanding of environmental issues, conducting studies to carry out their protective purposes, coordinating efforts of private groups, maintaining communications with public and private agencies and by obtaining maps, reports and other publications in order to support necessary researches of the council. Such tasks will enable the CAC to foster unified action on these environmental concerns, all of which are vital to the health, welfare and economic well-being of present and future inhabitants.
